The whisky was put into the cask at full strength and further matured in the cask. During the tasting, It is described that the nose of this whisky to contain cherries, currants and some citrus notes. wine enthusiasts even mentions smelling the distinct vegetable, rhubarb.

They then describe the taste of Rathclough as quite sweet with a bit of heat blasting all the way through. You can see in the glass that the legs are extremely thick and welded to the glass. This gives the impression that the whisky has an oily, smooth finish.
