Ruskova Vodka Orange & Pineapple

Ruskova Orange and Pineapple vodka are one of five flavored vodka’s Anson Imports make in Nizhniy Novgorod Russia.  They started in 2005 with Russian entrepreneur Oleg Lazanovitch’s father’s recipe which has been passed down from generation to generation.  It is made with winter wheat and soft rye and it is distilled six times.  All natural orange and pineapple flavor are added before bottling at 70 proof. The aroma leads with pineapple.  After aerating in my glass orange flavor shines through.  The natural orange flavored entry is joined by pineapple and builds to a tangy pineapple peak.  It fades with vodka flavor, heat and a little overripe pineapple flavor.  While I liked the naturally flavored entry the finish was a little hot.
