Single-malt scotches from Lismore are often called “mystery malts” because they are a bottling company, not a traditional distillery. The notes on the nose are varied, ranging from coconuts and other dry fruits to sweet smells of maple syrup and toffee. On the palate, the taste is earthy and very interesting as the sherry, and spices take the full effect of their two decades-plus in the casks. The finish is medium in length and simple in taste. While there are hints of an oily residue, the coconut flavor is also prominent in the end.
