Laphroaig Cairdeas Warehouse 1 (2022 Release)
Laphroaig Cairdeas Warehouse 1 (2022 Release)
Friends of a brute Laphroaig: stay away. The Cáirdeas Warehouse 1 is finely chiseled, initially even soft on the tongue, but this should not be confused with weakness, because it has an aromatic intensity that some full-on-the-twelve bottlings lack.
1st-Fill Ex-Bourbon Casks + Laphroaig, that couldn't go wrong either.
At first you might think it's a bit of a bore, as it initially feels soft and creamy on the tongue, but then it quickly takes things up a notch, packing in peat smoke, seaweed, pepper, quince jelly, peach chunks , vanilla and sweet rapeseed honey and completely lines the mouth. A few sticks of liquorice tumble afterwards, and dry wood, that was also missing. Only slightly phenolic on the tongue, but still 100% Laphroaig.
You can taste it for a long time, the maritime impression intensifies again at the end, seaweed, salt and pepper, liquorice, tangerines, honey, vanilla biscuits, dried herbs.
