The Florio Winery was founded in 1833 by Vincenzo Florio and his family of entrepreneurs. In the past the family always had great success businesses such as tuna fisheries, a shipping company, foundries and a ceramics factory. Their triumphs even lead to a car race called Targa Florio being named after them. The winery had a hard start taking 20 years to turn profit, but their successes were heard loud and clear in 1998 when ILLVA S.P.A bought it, taking the winery to the top of its marketFlorio MarsalaSecco is amberin color witha rich aroma of dried fruit.The wine is dryand full-flavored.Classification DOC Alcohol 18% Residual Sugar 38-39% Primary Fermentation is followed by the addition of grape alcohol to fortify. Aged in Oak for 30 months and in the bottle for 3 months Serving Temperature 15-16° Vineyard Characteristics The vineyard is located on the coast of Sicily at an elevation of sea level to 300 meters. The soil is defined as gsciareh-red, dry, and sandy with low fertility. The island experiences a climate of mild winters and hot dry summers.Florio Marsala Secco is amber in color with a rich aroma of dried fruit. The wine is dry and full-flavored.
