Trapiche Broquel Malbec 2017
Trapiche Broquel Malbec 2017
James Suckling 92 points - Focused and pretty with blackberries, blueberries and hints of spice on the nose and palate. Medium-to-full body. The tannin backbone keeps it fresh and focused. Drink now..March/2018
Wine Advocate 90 points - The oldest of the Trapiche brands, the 2017 Broquel Malbec was sourced from different vineyards in the departments of San Carlos and Tunuyan in the Valle de Uco. It fermented in concrete and stainless steel vats followed by malolactic in barrels and aged in new and used French oak barrels for nine months. It’s clean and fruit-driven, quite straightforward, with some spicy flavors and aromas. The palate is soft and approachable. One million bottles produced. There are four bottlings from the same blend..June/2018
Vinous 90 points - (14% alcohol): Bright medium ruby. Very ripe aromas of blackberry, black cherry, violet, menthol and dusty cocoa powder. Considerably denser than the 2016 version, combining slightly medicinal black fruits with a hint of sweet oak. Nicely balanced wine with the mid-palate stuffing to support its ripe tannins. This should be a very good value in Argentine Malbec..July/2018
