Broadbent Madeira Five Year Reserve
Broadbent Madeira Five Year Reserve
The wine is an amber color with aromas of vanilla and raisins; the finish is long with notes of chocolate.(100% Tinta Negra Mole). The wine aged in oak casks for at least five years. Madeiras are all made from a grape variety called Tinta Negra Mole. It has been popular practice for some Madeira shippers to downplay the quality of Tinta Negra Mole. In the course of his research, however, Michael Broadbent found the quality of wine produced by Tinta Negra Mole to be as high as that of the classic grapes.
Aged in oak casks for at least 5 years. A delicious, full-bodied and rich dessert wine, with an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity. With its dark gold color and sweet, nutty aromas, this is on the rich side of the Madeira taste spectrum. It has attractive fruitiness and aged citrus acidity that go together, leaving a wine that is both sweet but also fresh.
