Hine Cognac Homage
Hine Cognac Homage
To honour Thomas HINE, Eric Forget, HINE’s Cellar Master created Homage, a unique blend of three Early Landed Grande Champagne vintage cognacs (1984, 1986, 1987) matured in oak casks in the United Kingdom together with some extra old cognacs aged in HINE’s cellars in Jarnac.First impression: intensely floralSensory journey: velvety and long with hints of citrus fruit and orange peel so characteristic of old cognacs aged in England. On the palate there are dominant notes of citrus fruits followed by a hint of mushrooms which shows the ageing in very humid cellars.Blend: cognacs coming mainly from grapes picked in Grande Champagne together with a few exceptional Petite Champagne cognacs. All aged for a minimum of 10 years.Homage is the quintessence of HINE’s style.A wonderful blend of Early Landed cognacs (a traditional method of maturing cognac - it is exported prior to maturation - thus the name - and is aged in cellars in the UK - Bristol to be precise) as well as very old Cognacs matured in the Hine's Jarnac cellars. The blend was created on the 23rd October 2000 and selected on the 6th February 2008. It contains cognacs from 1984, 1986 and 1987.
